How the image is handled

The browser decodes the file and reads pixel values from a canvas. PixelFix Pro does not receive the image on a color-analysis server. This is useful for unreleased designs, internal screenshots, and client assets.

What the sampled value represents

The picker reads the pixel after the browser decodes the image. Compression, embedded color profiles, display calibration, and screenshots can make that value differ from an original design token.

The dominant palette is a summary, not a replacement for pixel sampling. Anti-aliased text and shadows contain many blended edge colors, so click inside a solid area when matching a foreground or background.
