Make a shareable copy of your HEIC photo
Some photo apps and upload forms cannot read HEIC or HEIF files. A JPG copy can help when the destination accepts JPEG. Changing a filename from .heic to .jpg does not change the image data; this converter reads and re-encodes the photo.
The decoder loads when you choose a file, so the first conversion can take longer than later ones. Processing uses your browser and device memory. Keep this tab open until the download is ready. The source file is not modified.
What the JPG includes
The converter keeps the decoded image’s pixel dimensions. If a HEIC file contains several images, it uses the first. It does not export a Live Photo’s video, a photo sequence, depth information or a complete editable photo library.
JPEG uses lossy compression, and conversion can change fine detail or color. Keep the original HEIC for archival use, HDR editing and future exports. Use the preview to check rotation, faces and highlights. Higher JPG quality increases file size and cannot restore information the decoder did not preserve.
If a file cannot be converted
This page accepts genuine HEIC or HEIF files up to 20 MB. Decoded images must fit within 20 megapixels and 8,000 pixels on either side. Some HEIF variants are unsupported by the browser decoder. If conversion fails, export a JPEG from the original photo app and try that file instead.
To change dimensions after conversion, use Resize image. For a strict upload limit, use the image compressor. For several photos, the batch editor applies common output settings.
