Crop paper, keep the handwriting
A large phone photo often contains more desk and blank paper than signature. Select the complete signature with a small margin around the strokes. The tool places that crop on a white canvas at your requested size, preserving its proportions.
For example, a 600 × 200 crop placed inside 280 × 120 pixels becomes 280 × 93 pixels of artwork with white space above and below. Simply stretching it to fill the canvas would change the handwriting's shape.
A maximum and a minimum are different checks
A small, clean signature can encode to less than 10 KB. If a portal requires 10–20 KB, being under 20 KB is only half the check. This tool measures both limits on the final file and explains when it cannot find a matching JPEG. It does not add junk bytes or artificial noise.
If the result falls below a required minimum, try a clearer original or larger dimensions if the form allows them. If it exceeds the maximum, reduce dimensions only when permitted. A file passing these checks still needs a legible signature and the correct application instructions.
About the archived IBPS reference
The scanning guidelines for IBPS CRP PO/MT-XVI's 2026 registration give a 10–20 KB JPEG range and prefer 140 × 60 pixels. That registration closed on July 26, 2026. The reference was checked on September 6, 2026; it does not establish requirements for another exam or a future application.
Use your own signature, follow the ink and paper instructions, and check the current portal. For identity photographs, use the separate photo file checker; signature preparation is a different task.
Common questions
Does this create a digital or electronic signature?
No. It prepares an image of an existing handwritten signature. It does not sign a document or create a signature for you.
Will this keep the original file?
Your original is unchanged. If a JPEG already matches the dimensions and byte range with no crop, its bytes are preserved, including metadata. Otherwise the output is a new JPEG with white padding where needed.
Can I remove a grey background or repair faint strokes?
This tool crops and resizes. It does not redraw strokes or replace a background. A fresh scan or evenly lit photo usually gives a more reliable result than trying to rescue an unreadable signature.
